Chipped and Broken Teeth: Mr T – Chell

I thought I was resigned to a life of broken and badly worn teeth – how wrong I was! This treatment has made such a difference to my self- esteem no longer having to worry about smiling for the camera without putting my hand over my mouth. Whenever I speak to friends about teeth and dentists, I always stress how important it is to get the full treatment facts and ask about alternative options – this course of treatment is one of the best investments I have ever made’

Before and after cosmetic dental treatment

Mr T, having joined our dental office in August 2004, decided after considering dental cosmetics for some time that he would investigate the opportunity of a mouth makeover to improve not only the aesthetics of his teeth but address the issue of his missing and broken teeth and the unreliable and ill fitting anterior bridgework which continually fell out and periodically, caused much discomfort and embarrassment.

From his completion of the cosmetic evaluation we noted that he felt his teeth were ‘worn and discoloured’ and that his existing restorations (crowns) did not match and his teeth were ‘all shades and odd’. His long term objective in addition to a much improved confident smile was to stop further erosion and secure a stable and vastly improved healthy foundation for his natural teeth and newly placed restorations.

In addition, Mr Anthony Dash needed to address the habit of severe ‘bruxing’ which Mr T suffered from. During Mr T’s new patient consultation, treatment options were discussed at length regarding the possibility of his oral rehabilitation and how the dental aesthetics, form and dental function could be much improved upon. In conclusion a comprehensive treatment plan was formulated with an array of treatments including the placement of several upper and lower arch superior Captek crowns, tooth coloured composite fillings and replacement bridgework. It was necessary following the completion of treatment, that Mr T would need to wear a soft mouth guard which would reduce the risk of fracture to his newly placed restorations should his bruxing habit continue.

Mr T considered his treatment options during his annual Winter break and scheduled various appointments to commence with his treatment plan shortly after his return. The successful completion of his oral rehabilitation was completed in the Spring of this year.

Cosmetic dentistry offers new porcelain and ceramic technology which is available for missing or severely broken and decayed teeth so that no-one can tell that the replacements are not real teeth.

The result for Mr T … a much improved smile and a very happy and confident patient!
